The Eyre Peninsula is a vast region stretching from Whyalla in the east to the West Australia border in the west, a distance of 1,000 km and 400 km in a north-south direction from the Gawler Ranges to Port .
The Spencer Gulf borders the eastern edge of the Peninsula where visitors to the region can find sheltered waters, safe swimming, sandy beaches and excellent fishing. In contrast, the west coast is exposed to the force of the Southern Ocean and offers some spectacular coastal scenery.
The region encompasses a area bordered by three major roads, The Flinders, Eyre and Lincoln Highways. Visitors can enjoy the myriad of towns such as Ceduna, Elliston, Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, Cleve, Arno Bay, Streaky Bay and Tumby Bay.
There are also a number of national parks and reserves, including Lincoln National Park and Coffin Bay National Park. You can see whales playing with their young off the coastline, try your luck at some of the best fishing spots in Australia, or explore the Gawler Ranges.
