This three day itinerary allows enough time to enjoy Kakadu's major attractions. Explore its famous Aboriginal rock art sites, cruise on Yellow Water Billabong and the East Alligator River, peruse its educational cultural centres and take a scenic flight for a bird's eye view of the Park.

Day 1
Kakadu National Park is located east of Darwin, a 117km drive along the Arnhem Highway leads into the Park. On arrival stop into visit the Bowali Visitor Centre and gain an overview of the park before you continue.

Travel north to the East Alligator River and enjoy a Guluyambi cultural cruise to learn about the Aboriginal aspects of the region, bookings are essential. In the late afternoon travel to Ubirr, a major Aboriginal art site showcasing an array of paintings and styles. Enjoy the unobstructed views as the sun sets over the _oodplains. Camping options are available in the Ubirr area at Merl campground, or return to your hotel accommodation in Jabiru.

Day 2
This morning enjoy a bird’s eye view of Kakadu aboard a 30 or 60 minute scenic flight from the Jabiru airport. Venture south and spend the mid-morning exploring Nourlangie Rock, another of Kakadu’s famous Aboriginal rock art sites.

A short drive from Nourlangie is the Cooinda area, where a full range of accommodation options are available. Also located at Cooinda is the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre where you will learn about the culture, beliefs and lifestyle of the traditional Aboriginal people. In the evening take a sunset cruise on Yellow Water Billabong and spot birds, crocodiles, and other wildlife.

Day 3
On your return journey to Darwin, stop to visit Mamukala Wetlands, where a covered observation deck allows you to view an abundance of birds and wildlife.

Other stops on your journey back to Darwin include the outback pub known as the Bark Hut, a visit to Window on the Wetlands, followed by a sunset over Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve.
